Naturelly added fibre jelly pots

Introducing the all new powerful dietary fibre

Not all superheroes wear capes.

Ready for a little lesson on the superfood chicory root? Favoured by the ancient Egyptians for its medicinal properties, the inulin found in chicory root is an important and powerful dietary fibre which can help keep big kids and little kids healthy – on the inside and out.

Eating plenty of fibre is associated with a lower risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and bowel cancer – yet many of us aren’t getting enough.

Introducing our all-new Juicy Jelly pots with a new superfood sidekick!

Drum roll please: we have some big news at Naturelly HQ! Our Juicy Jelly pots have had a little makeover and they’re back – featuring a new superfood sidekick! Our jelly mongers have been busy working behind the scenes to make our Juicy Jelly even better – and healthier – with a little help from the small but powerful plant-based superhero: chicory root.

Looking after little tummies

What makes the inulin in chicory root so special is that it’s also a prebiotic – a special form of dietary fibre that acts as a fertiliser for the good bacteria in the gut. Unlike probiotics, prebiotic fibre isn’t affected by heat, stomach acid, or time – just one of the reasons it’s a plant-based superhero.

Studies have shown that increasing prebiotic fibre intake supports immunity, digestive health, bone density, weight management and brain health* – to name but a few!

Rich sources of prebiotic fibre include Jerusalem artichoke, dandelion greens and chicory root, which is made up of almost 65% fibre by weight. Of course, at Naturelly we know that getting little ones to eat dandelion greens and chicory root is likely to prove challenging – which is where our new Juicy Jelly pots come in!

Plant power

Each 120g pot of Naturelly Juicy Jelly now comes with 3 grams of inulin – the same amount of fibre as a small handful of nuts – to help little ones achieve their recommended daily target of fibre.

The amount of fibre we need in our diets depends on how old we are, and government guidelines suggest:

  • 2 to 5 year-olds: 15g of fibre a day
  • 5 to 11 year-olds: 20g of fibre a day
  • 11 to 16 year-olds: 25g of fibre a day

Yet NHS figures show** that on average children and teenagers are only getting around 15g or less of fibre a day.

How Naturelly can help
Not only do our Juicy Jelly pots now come with 3 grams of inulin per pot, they’re also school approved with no added sugar or sweeteners. Made from real fruit juice with only 5% naturally occurring fruit sugar, there’s less than 40 kcal per 120g pot and what’s more, they’re Vegetarian Society approved too.
